The first cycle of 'lessons poetic' organized by our Gallery concludes with a lesson on one of Corrado Di Pietro most illustrious poets of the late twentieth century Sicily: Salvatore Di Pietro, (1906 Pachino - Viterbo 1990).
'... The first, the original principle of poetic and moral research by Salvatore Di Pietro lies in the relationship between man and nature, between the idea and the universe, including the death of the man and the becoming of creation. It is the first most natural attitude of the religious poet Pachino.
In this seemingly fantastic or metaphysical dialectic between man and nature held a poetry that oscillates between realism and impressionism patriarchal imprint color, made the line of a discreet but passionate and heartfelt emotion. ... Only plunging into the real and the poet in his time it includes the humor and characters, makes them his card and places them as ideal as a mosaic of adventure human.
Some of these cards. The size of the hard work and loads of Christian symbolism: the cross, the Trinity, the consecrated host, the saints, prayer, the cross becomes a plow and extent of human life, the Trinity becomes the primary cycle of existence; the host is the sanctified bread of the work, the saint is the projection of our faith, prayer is the heartbeat of the universe that finally beats humans and creation.
The moral teaching of Di Pietro comes from an ancient wisdom, the wisdom of a people, the Sicilian, which reached to its historical vicissitudes, depth of thought and wealth of images almost Bible. "(Corrado Di Pietro)
