Elena Pizzetti

High Brianza: ancient canons, culture and landscapes of Leonardo

The refined ability to investigate the nature of a contemporary artist and the charm of the past wrapped in a rectory whose origin is lost in the mists of time. An unusual meeting that the Association Cultural BAC, Barzanò Arts Culture chaired by the very Cecilia Garbarino (www.associazionebac.org) organized the exhibition Species to be held from September 24 to October 10 in Barzanò (Luke) as part of the Rectory Seasons - AUTUMN ART. On display are 50 works of Michelle Vitaloni (www.michelevitaloni.com), made of cast bronze or wood pulp and oil paintings depicting animals of various species in size, located in different parts of the picturesque town Brianza. A production of large effect that involves the old rectory of St. Saviour, with an enclosed octagonal baptistery, Villa Della Porta, Villa and Villa Manara Paladini, but also the artist's studio, which for the occasion will be open to the public. The event marks the end of the ideal restoration of the frescoes of the Rectory, built in the last two years thanks to the contribution of Fondazione Cariplo. A real treasure is currently being studied to determine the exact timing. Even the origin of the rectory is in doubt: the first group could date back to Lombard, it was built the castle, which was destroyed in 1220. Just the religious architecture is the common thread of a tour that it is up to the baptistery and the church, Romanesque masterpieces of Brianza, this complex of St. Benedictine Pietro al Monte di Civate, the Convent of the Franciscan Order of Friars Sabioncello near Merate century monastery and Misson of Mercy. Many villas and then the suggestions of an area rich in lakes and views like that one enjoys from leorardesco Colle Brianza. Among the events not to miss: the ninth edition of the festival of crime writing "The Passion for Murder," which takes place at Villa Greppi Monticello Brianza (Lc) from September 26 to October 10 (www.lapassioneperildelitto.it) . For an exclusive stay you can choose the C-Hotel (www.c-hotel.it) Cassago in the heart of Brianza, a stylish design hotel with 18 suites and spa that offers the price of 299 euro a night for two people with breakfast, one at C-spa for two, a tour at a winery in the Park and the Valley of Montevecchia Curone tasting, dinner in a farmhouse and late check out.
